EB Crosslinking Principles

Exposing polymer materials to electron beams causes molecular bonds to be broken by the electron beam energy generating radicals. Radicals react with molecular chains forming bonds called crosslinking. This crosslinking reaction creates three-dimensional lattice structures improving properties such as heat resistance and strength.

Benefits of Electron Beam Crosslinking

Improving Heat Resistance
Limiting Fluidity (Improving workability/quality)
Shape Memory Effects (Improving heat shrinkage performance)
Improved Strength
